Hide & Seek Biscuits / Chocolate chip cookies - Step by Step recipe

I presume there would be at least one kid in every family who's crazy for " Hide & Seek Biscuits"  in India...My NA is a huge fan of the same , she is so excited when told that we are going to an Indian store to shop as she would get more of these biscuits...and she can't wait to reach home to open a packet of the same, so always she starts to eat it while on our way back home.
Decided to try making it at home today , just to see her excitement....

And her Happy face made my day :)

Found a blog - Hamaree Rasoi , in which a similar recipe was uploaded , made little changes to it, added wheat flour as always and it came out really well....
Even I enjoyed that crispy chocolate Biscuits with chocolate chips here and there.

For making Hide & Seek - Like -  Biscuits You'll need

All purpose flour - 3/4 cup
Wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Butter - 1/2 cup (room temperature )
Powdered Sugar - 3/4 cup
Egg Yolks - 2
Cocoa Powder - 2 Tsp (may add little extra , if you want to make it more chocolate flavored)
1 tsp - Baking Powder
Vanilla essence - 1/4 tsp
2 Tb Sp of chocolate chips (use mini chocolate chips if you get'em)
Salt - a pinch

Method

*Preheat the oven to 350 Degree F.

* Sift together dry ingredients , - All purpose flour , Wheat flour , salt , baking Powder and cocoa powder , keep aside.
(May omit Wheat flour and use only all purpose flour as in Original recipe)

* Beat Butter(use room temperature) with sugar till nicely combined , add in egg yolks and Vanilla essence , continue beating it till light and fluffy.

* Fold in the sifted dry ingredients (all purpose flour , wheat flour , baking powder , salt and cocoa) Use a wooden spoon to combine everything well.

* Add the chocolate chips and work with your hands to bring everything together.

* Wrap this crumby dough in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

* After 30 minutes remove the plastic wrap and place this dough on the surface (I placed a paper towel underneath as the dough seemed to be little sticky) place another plastic wrap on the dough and roll the dough using a rolling pin , to make a thickness of 1/4 inch (approx).

Rolling'em over the wrap helps to roll'em easily or else it may stick to the rolling pin.
Try to roll it to uniform thickness

* Cut in to squares shape (didn't have any square shaped cutter , so used a knife to cut'em)

* Place these to the baking tray, line these biscuits diagonally (using a toothpick or knife) like the designs in Hide and Seek Biscuits. Also prick these using a fork to help air escape while baking to prevent'em from puffing up (this is important).

* Bake these in 350 Degree Preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Take out from oven and keep it untouched for sometime , when cooled store in air tight containers.

Enjoy !!

Review from NA after finishing the whole cookies...
"Amma (Mom)  actually the real Hide & Seek biscuits are dark brown in color , rest everything is fine so make sure you make it dark brown next time"

My reply - " Fine , will do that for sure , but don't come with  ink spots to get the click , doesn't look good in pictures "

Cheers
